Welcome to McKinley School
Vision Statement: McKinley School will foster a safe environment that builds a foundation in which students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally so that they are motivated to contribute to their classroom, school, and community.
McKinley Elementary School is one of three schools in the Susanville School District which is located in Northeastern California where the Sierras meet the Cascades about 80 miles northwest of Reno. We are a TK-2nd grade school with an enrollment of approximately 375 students. We provide a quality education in a safe, secure, and welcoming environment. Our students develop the academic, social, and emotional skills necessary to succeed. We work with our students to help them become more well-rounded individuals both in our school and our community. McKinley Bulldogs embody our school motto: Be Safe, Be Responsible, and Be Respectful. The McKinley staff utilizes local, state, and federal guidelines to provide programs that support our commitment to a meaningful education for our students. Our program is academically rigorous and supports student achievement in all areas. We also provide enrichment opportunities that are unique to our rural location. McKinley is an outstanding place to grow and learn. We welcome and encourage parents to be an active part of our wonderful school community. We look forward to serving our students and families each day.
